Kim Ford is the founder/publisher of JubileeMag.com, an online faith-based magazine covering truth, culture and style, based in Atlanta, GA. She’s also a speaker and the author of “Never Too Late” and “30 Things Women Should Know Before Turning 30”. Kim’s overall mission is to bring faith to the mainstream world.
While publishing JubileeMag.com, Kim has covered events such as the BET Awards, Soul Train Awards, Dove Awards, Trumpet Awards, Stellar Awards and more. She has interviewed some of the red carpets biggest stars such as Tyler Perry, Bishop T.D. Jakes, Kevin Hart, Meagan Good, DeVon Franklin, Jennifer Hudson, Anthony Anderson, Magic Johnson, La La and Carmelo Anthony, Jordin Sparks, Kevin Costner, Jada Pinkett Smith, Deitrick Haddon, Michelle Williams, Erica Campbell, Mary Mary, Tyrese, Steve Harvey as well as many others.
Just as she is a regular for covering red carpet events for high profile celebs, Kim is also a regular for covering private film screenings in conjunction with Sony Pictures, Universal Pictures, Warner Brothers and many independent film and television companies.
Kim’s passion reaches deeper than red carpet events, covering big film premieres and even interviewing some of entertainment’s biggest celebrities. Her strongest desire and gift is helping women overcome life’s obstacles. As the mother of a young adult daughter and a pre-teen son, Kim knows what it's like to balance the role of single-mom and entrepreneur while maintaining a fearless, success-driven mindset. She has overcome many setbacks and disappointments, but she decided to let it make her better instead of bitter. This all led to her expanding her brand by launching iamKimFord.com. In order to help women around the world, Kim offers books, audio courses, webinars, podcasts and events geared towards helping women have a better tomorrow. She focuses on relationships, pursuing your dreams, faith and entrepreneurship. Her first book, “It’s Never Too Late”, is set to release fall 2015. Her second book, "30 Things Women Should Know Before Turning 30" is expected to release in the spring of 2016.
When Kim is not doing interviews or shooting backstage exclusives, she can be found immersed in the community. Whether it’s inspiring the youth during Career Day within the Atlanta Public School system, or speaking on college campuses like Grambling State University, Spelman College as well as Morehouse College. Kim serves as a mentor for the Morehouse College Community Revitalization Initiative (MCCRI) program and for the Morehouse College Entrepreneurship Center. She also mentors young adults through the Urban League of Greater Atlanta.
In 2012, Kim was featured amongst attorneys, media executives, physicians and more as prominent professional women in Atlanta for a promotional group photoshoot for Black Girls Run, a movement encouraging African American women to take charge of their health. The campaign was shot by celeb photographer Derek Blanks.
Kim can also be found volunteering and teaching at her church. She’s led 6am corporate prayer and served on a team that coordinated a 50-state tour. This opportunity allowed her to travel across the country ministering to hundreds of men and women.Kim is a member of NABFEME (National Association of Black Female Executives in Music & Entertainment) and WEEN (Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network).Whether she’s on the red carpet or pouring into the lives of women, Kim has chosen to be the light someone needs to keep going, no matter where they come from or what they’ve been through."We need more women standing up for what's right...like higher standards, healthy relationships, self-worth, and faith. Since establishing JubileeMag.com in 2007, Kim has been awarded Independent Magazine of the Year as well as nominated for Best Faith-Based Magazine. She’s also made in-studio appearances on Radio One for Willie Moore Jr.’s The Nightly Spirit sharing tips and giving the inside scoop about the events she’s covered for JubileeMag.com.
Pushed by thousands of her followers, she went on to create a downloadable courses like “How To Pitch Yourself To The Media Like A Pro” and, “How To Blog For Fun or Profit”, in which she teaches the course in-person as a quarterly workshop at Georgia State University.
Outside of the limelight, Kim covered Bloody Sunday, the 50th anniversary of the crossing of the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama. The march honored the lives lost during the fight for the right to vote. Kim was also in the trenches covering the untimely death of Bobbi Kristina, where her video footage went viral around the world.
