ELIGIBILITY: Open to legal residents of Cobb, Cherokee, Clayton, DeKalb, Douglas, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, and Paulding counties in Georgia who are over the age of 24; have a household income before deductions of $80,000 or less; who does not have an incorporated/registered business filed with the state of Georgia or who has a business that has been incorporated/registered with the State of Georgia for 5 years or less; The business must have no more than 25 employees on its payroll and annual revenues of less than $80,000. Employees and board members of Inside Out Center, Inc. (“Sponsor”), and members of their immediate family (spouse, parent, sibling, or child and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside), and persons living in the same household of such employees, whether or not related, are not eligible to enter or win. One (1) video entry per business or individual. Multiple video submissions will disqualify entrant
1. Submit a five (5) minute or less video pitch of your Small Business. Do not include music that you do not have the legal rights to use. Most music is copyrighted. Video submission will be accepted at any time prior to August 30, 2018.
2. Entrant must register and attend The Entrepreneur Experience Conference Fall Session (“Conference”) and the “A Time to Shine” Red Tie Gala (“Gala”) on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Atlanta Perimeter. Register on www.atlredtiegala.org or http://www.sbmexpo.com/entrepreneur-business-networking website.
3. Entrant must participate in the I Support the Working Poor online fundraiser (“fundraiser”). Sign up on www.501c3donation.com website. Note: Entrant is not required to make a donation to participate in the competition. Providing a donation does not increase your chances of winning in the competition.
Sponsor shall determine, in its sole discretion, whether an entry meets the eligibility criteria to participate in the Competition. Sponsor's decisions regarding eligibility and all other aspects of the Competition are final and binding. Entrants will receive an email within seven (7) business days if their entry has been accepted or rejected.
SPECIFICATIONS OF VIDEO:
The video should be five (5) minutes or less.
The video should include:
a. Who you are
g. How are you planning on using the funds from the Entrepreneur Competition
f. What you sell or what service you provide
e. What makes your business unique or stand out
d. Why are you starting a business or have started a business
c. What is your passion and how does it translate into your business
b. The Entrepreneur Competition Grant is sponsored by Inside Out Center, Inc.
3. The video should not have any inappropriate content, language or imagery (no violence, curse words, racist comments, pornographic or personal attacks on people or organizations, etc.).
4. The video can be made in any narrative format (e.g. animation, documentary, music video, dynamic infographic, etc.).
5. The video must be in English language and participants must be able to pitch live in English language during the Gala.
HOW TO ENTER:
Upload a 5 minute or less video pitch about your Small Business or the business you would like to start on YouTube as a public video. Add hastag #TEEC #pitchcompetition to your YouTube video
Go to The Entrepreneur Experience Conference Facebook page at https://p.antavo.com/f/FAJ/ and submit your YouTube url.
Submit on www.sbmexpo.com/entrepreneur-grant-photo a high resolution photo of yourself and a 2 sentence description of your business or business that you would like to start.
Register for the conference and gala on www.atlredtiegala.org or http://www.sbmexpo.com/entrrepreneur-business-networking website.
Sign up for the fundraiser on www.501c3donation.com website.
SELECTION OF WINNER:
1. Entrant videos are presented to the public via Facebook. Competition participants may share their entry and encourage their network to participate in the public online voting for choosing the Entrepreneur pitch competition winners. This public vote procedure will start on February 1, 2018 at 12:00am ET and end on August 30, 2018 at 11:30 pm ET. Voters may vote once a day. One vote per person, Facebook account, or email address per day. Voters may vote on https://p.antavo.com/f/FAJ/
2. The top thirty (30) most voted on online videos finalist will be notified by phone, text, or email on September 22, 2018.
3. The thirty (30) finalist will present a 2 minute or less pitch about their start up business during the Entrepreneur Experience Conference.
a. There is no specific requirements for the content of the pitch
b. Competition participants should consider the overall presentation including content, delivery, and audience impact.
c. No more than two people from same company may present together
d. No visual aids, index cards, slides, or props may be used during the pitch
e. There will be no question and answer period following the pitches
4. Three (3) winners will be selected for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place by a panel of judges based on judging criteria. The judging panel consist of small business owners.
5. One (1) winner will be selected for the 4th place by the registered conference audience. The audience pick will be based on their favorite overall pitch presentation.
6. The winners will be announced during the A Time to Shine Red Tie Gala from the thirty presentations.
DAY OF CONFERENCE PITCH JUDGING CRITERIA: (based on a scale of 1 – 10. 1 being least -10 being most)
1. Presentation: Persuasiveness and believability
2. Information: Was the product or service clearly expressed
3. Market Need: Does the product and/or service address a real need by customers.
4. Timing: pitches will be cut off after 2 minutes
In the event of a tie, the Executive Director of Inside Out Center, Inc. will cast the determining vote.
Prizes will be awarded as follows:
First place: $1,000 towards the betterment of their Small Business (ARV): $1,000; 2 page feature that includes photos and write up in Bold Favor quarterly magazine (ARV): $1,000; 108praise radio interview on the Straight up No Chaser Show (ARV): $400, Logo creation by Ellis & Ellis Consulting (ARV): $200; One-minute promo video (ARV): $150; 1 hour photo shoot and make up session with DaeRae Media Group (ARV): $150, Reimbursement of new business registration original filing fees with the State of Georgia for 2019 (ARV): $100
Second place: $700 towards the betterment of their Small Business (ARV): $700; 108praise radio interview on the Straight up No Chaser Show (ARV): $400, One-minute promo video (ARV): $150; Reimbursement of new business registration original filing fees with the State of Georgia for 2019 (ARV): $100
Third place prize: $500 towards the betterment of their Small Business (ARV): $500; 108praise radio interview on the Straight up No Chaser Show (ARV): $400, One-minute promo video (ARV): $150; Reimbursement of new business registration original filing fees with the State of Georgia for 2019 (ARV): $100
Fourth place prize: $250 towards the betterment of their Small Business (ARV): $250; 108praise radio interview on the Straight up No Chaser Show (ARV): $400, One-minute promo video (ARV): $150; Reimbursement of new business registration original filing fees with the State of Georgia for 2019 (ARV): $100
FOR ALL PRIZES: The ARV of prizes is subject to price fluctuations in the consumer marketplace based on, among other things, any gap in time between the date the ARV is estimated for purposes of these Official Rules and the date the prize is awarded or redeemed. Filing of new business with the State of Georgia must be submitted by August 30, 2019. All redeemable prizes must be redeemed by August 30, 2019.
All decisions of the Judges in selecting the Winner is final and binding on all Entrants in matters relating to the Competition. Prizes are not redeemable for cash. No prize substitution or cash equivalent of prize. No prize transfer. Limit of one award per Entrant. Cash prizes for the Entrepreneur Competition Grant will be awarded and paid to the legal entity where one exists. If no legal entity exist, winner must register their business with the State of Georgia before August 31, 2019 to receive cash prize. Winner must submit a w-9 form before prizes are awarded. Winner must submit their 2017 IRS filed income tax form for income verification before prizes are awarded.
All winners are subject to verification, including without limitation, verification of eligibility and compliance with these official rules. If a winner cannot be verified, or if a winner is otherwise unable to accept their prize, prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner. The sponsors reserve the right to not award any or all prizes in the event of an insufficient number of eligible entries are received, as determined by the sponsor or winner business is not registered with the State of Georgia before August 31, 2019. We reserve the right to add, and/or substitute prizes of equal or greater value and reasonable equivalence at any time.
ODDS OF WINNING PRIZE: Overall odds of winning depends on number of entries received during the Competition Period.
SUBMISSION OF PHOTO, VIDEO, TEXT OR OTHER CONTENT FOR COMPETITION:
Entries requiring photo, video, text or other content from the Entrants will be judged entirely at the discretion of Inside Out Center, Inc.
By submitting any photo, video or information to Inside Out Center, Inc., you hereby grant to Inside Out Center, Inc. and its affiliates, subsidiaries, licensees and assigns, an irrevocable, perpetual and royalty-free right to use, reproduce, edit, display, transmit, prepare derivative works of, modify, publish and otherwise make use of the submitted photo, video, or other information in any and all media, whether now known or hereinafter created, throughout the world and for any purpose. In addition to other things, the rights granted to Inside Out Center, Inc. includes but is not limited to the right to resize, crop, censor, compress, edit, feature, caption, affix logos to, and to otherwise alter or make use of the submitted photo or video.
By submitting any photo, video or information to Inside Out Center, Inc., you hereby represent and warrant that the submitted photo, video, or information does not and shall not infringe on any copyright, any rights of privacy or publicity of any person, or any other right of any third party, and you have the right to grant any and all rights and licenses granted to Inside Out Center, Inc. herein, including but not limited to all necessary rights under copyright, free and clear of any claims or encumbrances.
You acknowledge and agree that Inside Out Center, Inc. shall have no obligation to post, display or otherwise make publicly available any photo, video or information submitted by you, and may, in its sole and unfettered discretion, remove, edit, modify or delete any photo, video, or information that you submit to Inside Out Center, Inc.
You understand and intend that any photo, video or information submitted by you to Inside Out Center, Inc. may be available for viewing, rating, review and comment on by the public, and understand that comments or ratings with which you disagree or are unhappy about may be published or otherwise become associated with any photo or information you submit to Inside Out Center, Inc. By submitting any photo, video or information to Inside Out Center, Inc., you hereby waive any privacy expectations that you may have with respect to any such photo, video or information submitted by you to Inside Out Center, Inc.
You hereby agree to hold Inside Out Center, Inc. and its affiliates, subsidiaries, licensees sponsors and assigns harmless from and against, and hereby waive any right to pursue, any claims of any nature arising in connection with the inclusion in, publication via or display on any Inside Out Center, Inc. sites, or any other use authorized under these Terms, of any photo, video or information submitted to Inside Out Center, Inc. by you.
Photos, Videos, or information submitted by you to the Site shall be the property of Inside Out Center, Inc., and Inside Out Center, Inc. shall have no obligation to preserve, return or otherwise make available to you or others any photos, videos, or information so submitted.
CONDITIONS: Inside Out Center, Inc. reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition (or portion thereof). As a condition of entry into the Competition, except where prohibited by law, each participant grants to Inside Out Center, Inc. all right, title and interest in, to publicize, broadcast, display and/or otherwise use, the Competition participant's name, city, state, country and biographical material, image, and any other content submitted in relation to the Competition (collectively, "Licensed Rights") in any media for advertising and publicity purposes, without additional review, compensation, or approval by the participant. As a further condition of entry into the Competition, each participant grants to Inside Out Center, Inc. a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual license to display, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, and otherwise use any of any original content submitted with a participant's entry, in any media and for any purpose, without additional review, compensation, or approval by the participant. If winner does not attend The Entrepreneur Experience Conference Fall Session, and the A Time to Shine Red Tie Gala, such prize will be forfeited. By participating, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges, which are final and binding in all respects.
CHOICE OF LAW: Competition is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of entrant and Sponsor in connection with the Competition, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the substantive laws of the State of Georgia, USA. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
FACEBOOK: This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook or any of their affiliates. Facebook is not liable for this Competition.
